On January 6, 2025, Van Lang University in collaboration with the Korean Association of Product and Culture Design (KICD) organized the International Exhibition and Conference 2025 with the theme of Community Design, gathering more than 140 works from designers from 22 countries. This is an opportunity for experts and designers around the world to meet, share about creative design trends, and at the same time seek solutions and expand cooperation in the field of community design.
Prof. Phan Quan Dung - Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts & Design, Van Lang University affirmed: The 2025 International Exhibition in cooperation with KICD, is organized to inspire creativity, connect multiple fields and provide materials for designers to create breakthroughs to serve society. This is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese design industry to learn and exchange with design powerhouses, while promoting national identity and promoting global cooperation.
Prof. Kim Gok Mi - President of the Korean Association of Product Design and Culture (KICD) affirmed: “The exchange exhibition held this year is a meaningful event, creating conditions to promote mutual learning in the fields of academia and art. In particular, KICD is implementing a plan to create opportunities for student works to win prizes in the international BLUE AWARDS competition, one of the largest competitions organized by the Korean Association of Product Design and Culture.”
Design for the community is becoming a popular trend in Vietnam and around the world, contributing to the implementation of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. With the aim of introducing creative designs that bring positive values and improve the quality of life, the 2025 International Exhibition displays works in many fields: graphic design, fashion design and interior design. These works reflect the unique nuances and distinct marks of authors from many countries.
The workshop held on the same day attracted many experts from Vietnam and Korea to participate in sharing about promotion trends, analyzing cultural values, as well as the role of art in the community. Through 5 presentations and 1 special lecture, the conference set out sustainable development goals in design, while introducing modern tools to preserve national cultural values in the new era, with the support of artificial intelligence, VFX technology and advanced image creation solutions.
The 2025 International Exhibition and Conference has contributed to affirming VLU's professional position in the field of art and design domestically and internationally. These activities not only create conditions for experts and designers to exchange and research at VLU but also open up opportunities to promote international student exchange programs, attracting many talents to study and develop at Van Lang.
